Pi Day Event
Date: Friday March 13, 2026 (The 14th is a Saturday. :( )
Time: TBA
Location: TBA but probably MS grad lounge
Description: This is a collaboration between SUM-C and GUMS. We will have free pie and we have a raffle for who gets to pie certain profs and/or club execs in the face 💀. Proceeds are donated to the SU food bank.
There will also be a pi memorization contest.

Past Events

Fibre Arts Workshop
Date: Tuesday February 10, 2026
Time: 3-5 PM
Location: BS 561 (DON'T TAKE THE ELEVATOR TO LEAVE SINCE IT ACTS WEIRD AFTER 5:00 PM.)
Description: we are collaborating with the Fibre Arts Club for this event. It is a tutorial for how to crochet. You can also discuss the math regarding knitting and crocheting, but you don't have to if you don't want to. Bringing supplies is not necessary.



Winter Kickoff Event
Date: Friday January 30, 2026
Time: 3-5 PM
Location: ST 142 (Science Collaborative Space)
Description: this is a start-of-semester celebration event for spending time with friends, and hopefully meeting new ones.
During the event, we will have an activity called a "powerpoint karaoke". How it works is that anyone who wants to can submit a presentation (.pptx, .pdf) by emailing us at sumc@ucalgary.ca, anytime before the event starts. Then, anyone who is willing, in front of the others, will present one of the presentations (chosen by execs), without any preparation.
There will be free pizza for those who RSVP! This event is open to everyone, regardless of membership.
